ENHANCING OMANI UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ WRITING AND STUDY SKILLS: DISCUSSION FORUM MODULE

摘要: Abstract: This paper reports the results of a study conducted among first-year Foundation Program English Language (FPEL) students, teachers and FPEL course coordinators at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Oman with aim to examine use Moodle forums for advancing writing skills students higher level courses by participating asynchronous discussions, interacting other and/or teacher, exchanging ideas posting comments. In addition, students’, teachers’ coordinators’ perceptions about discussion forum as an activity e-learning environment that can successfully contribute curriculum goals teaching approaches were examined regard attainment learning outcomes (LOs). Data collected interviewing coordinators, conducting online survey monitoring students’ participation activities analyzing policy documents related components 0560 course. The corroborate some significant findings previous work field, clearly demonstrate support fluency, allow more time developing working on their skills’ assignments. Additionally, foster sense purpose community, well communication development language learners through responding assignments, inviting feedback, commenting on/grading comments, seeking providing help purposes enhancing, reinforcing researching.
