摘要: In order to investigate the process by which dietary composition may regulate T4 conversion T3 and reverse T3, iodothyronine levels were measured in sera of seven obese subjects during consecutive study periods. These periods included ingestion an approximate weight-maintaining diet (40% carbohydrate, 40% fat, 20% protein) a control period 4 days, fast 7 days thereafter, then 5-day glucose (50 g/day) only. The mean (±SE) serum concentration was 117 ± 8 ng/dl on day period, gradually decreased 66 11 (p < 0.01) last fasting. subsquent administration associated with increase level 94 10 0.01). Mean varied reciprocally 52 9 ng/dl, 82 12 0.005), 65 (compared fasting, p 0.05) fed fasting states administration, respectively. Furthermore, employing similar protocol different group subjects, sampled 100 g fructose orally 8–12 also decrease as compared values obtained 6 or (T3: 83 vs. 111 10, 0.05); rT3: 56 9, 42 0.025)). Serum concentrations not significantly altered any either ingestion. Despite decrement observed peak TSH response TRH stimulation 15 state (8.1 1.2 μU/ml, 12.8 2.0 fed). observations suggest that both are capable modulating these hexoses doses only 100–200 g/day for 5 be effective altering degradative pathways. despite levels, is decreased, paradoxically,
