摘要: Phage therapy is the use of lytic bacteriophages to cure infections caused by bacteria. The aim this study isolate and characterize against Escherichia coli isolated from clinical samples. For isolation bacteriophages, water samples were collected Ganges River, phage enrichment method was followed for isolation. Microbiological, genomic lyophilization experiments carried out bacteriophage. Galleria mellonella used potential phages E. infection. myPSH1131 belonging Podoviridae family found have broad host range infectivity (n = 31) infect Enterohemorrhagic 9), Enteropathogenic 6), Enterotoxigenic 3), Enteroaggregative Uropathogenic 9) one unknown coli. genome size 76,163 base pairs (97 coding regions) their genes show high similarity SU10 phage. Lyophilization studies showed that 1M sucrose, 2% gelatin combination both 0.5M sucrose plus 1% could restore viability up 20 months at 4°C. in vivo studies, it observed a single dose can reduce infection but achieve 100% survival rate infected larvae should be treated with three doses (20 μL, 103 PFU/mL) 6 hours interval. characterized activity pathogens multiple are required effective treatment.
