摘要: Summary The abundant nuclear RNA binding protein FUS binds the C-terminal domain (CTD) of polymerase II in an RNA-dependent manner, affecting Ser2 phosphorylation and transcription. Here, we examine mechanism this process find that nucleates formation higher-order ribonucleoprotein assemblies bind CTD. Both low-complexity arginine-glycine rich contribute to assembly. appear fibrous by electron microscopy have characteristics β zipper structures. These results support emerging view pathologic aggregation seen in neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis may occur via exaggeration functionally important proteins.
