摘要: AbstractContinuous sampling of upper-ocean hydrographic data in the Canada Basin from various sources spanning 2003 through 2011 provides an unprecedented opportunity to observe changes occurring a major feature Arctic Ocean. In 112-km-radius circle situated near center traditional Beaufort Gyre, geopotential height referenced 400 dbar increased by about 0.3 gpm 2011, and end period had 65% climatological value. Near edges domain considered, anomalies dynamic are much smaller, indicating steeper gradients. A rough topography constructed profiles collected between 2008 shows gyre have shifted south 2° latitude, along 150°W meridian. Geostrophic currents stronger on periphery gyre, reaching amplitudes 5–6 times higher than values at grid points just offshore Chukchi shelf slopes. Esti...
