摘要: Purpose It is generally accepted that massage can provide a lot of benefits to human health, especially for the brain functions. Little known about effect unilateral on activities. Nowadays, Swedish modern technique popular in both treatment and research fields. The purpose this paper investigate activities with electroencephalography (EEG) recording. Design/methodology/approach In total, 18 healthy adult participants (5 men, 13 women) aged between 22 36 years were massaged over one side arm, forearm, hand, neck face. Then same procedures repeated another body. EEG was recorded before (baseline) during each condition. absolute power four common waves consisting δ (0.5-4 Hz), θ (4-8 α (8-13 β (13-30 Hz) from quantitative analysis baseline condition used compare paired t-test. Findings The study found reduction powers bilateral frontal, fronto-central, central areas. increments similar areas also observed. These findings indicated generalized inducing relaxation. Moreover, significant right area when left-arm applied. This finding revealed initial inhibitory somatosensory cortex received sensory stimulation through left body. Originality/value Unilateral induced at contralateral then produced which compatible
