摘要: During a preliminary set of experiments (April 1987). I measured short-term (20 d) reproductive responses laboratory-cultured Capitella sp. 1 at 20°C, four daily ration levels (0.26 to 2.60 mg organic nitrogen per bowl), and for food types: Gerber's mixed cereals, Ulva sp., diatoms, Tetramen fish food. Average female body size, number fertile segments, fecundity were significantly affected both by type ration. fecundities ranged from 21 (Gerber, 0.26 N d-1) 448.3 eggs (Tetramen, d-1). second (May 1987), the response 20°C six spring summer sediment-trap material collected in Patuxent Estuary, Maryland, USA. Worms raised on these two diets failed reproduce during period this experiment. used simple miltiple linear-regression models describe relationships between rations macro- (dry wt, C, N) micronutrients (essential amino- essential fatty acids). These carried out three data sets corresponding either 4 or 6 types. The results suggest that different nutritional factors may be limiting foods. However especially amino acids probably more aptly limitation reproduction 1.
