摘要: Sphingomonas cloacae S-3(T), a nonylphenol (NP)-degrading bacterium, was evaluated for its utility in the remediation of NP-contaminated wastewater. In flask-scale experiments, S-3(T) cells immobilized on porous polypropylene carriers (beads) efficiently degraded NP to concentrations routinely measured aquatic environments [a few parts per billion (ppb), or micrograms liter). Therefore, we constructed and laboratory-scale wastewater treatment system with 3-l carrier-filled column. The worked properly consistently removed several hundred ppb ecologically safe less than 10 industrial without addition nutrients. effect pH performance also evaluated; samples values 6 8 were treated adjustment. These results suggest that biotreatment using NP-degrading bacteria can remediate contribute preservation environments.
