摘要: Estradiol increases mRNA and/or protein expression of the nitric oxide synthase (NOS) isoforms in a variety tissues including kidney. In this study we determined relationship between cyclical variations estradiol levels and renal function total NO production virgin female rat. addition, used an aromatase inhibitor (Anastrozole), to inhibit synthesis from testosterone. were higher proestrus vs. diestrus, markedly suppressed by 7 days treatment with inhibitor. There was no difference (from urinary plasma nitrate + nitrite = NOX) diestrus but inhibition resulted production. The cortical NOS activity abundance also increased aromatase-inhibited rats. differences blood pressure (BP) any group vascular resistance (RVR) low proestrus, did not change further after inhibition. summary, changes correlate levels. Pharmacologic castration leads marked increase NOS. This contrasts earlier work where surgical causes decreased
