We report a yearlong study of dominance and affiliation in 24 dogs at dog daycare facility provide additional details on through long-term observations pairs who lived together the same household or met frequently for years. Companion formed highly differentiated with one another. At daycare, some dyads affiliated displayed one-way submission (formal dominance), others without relationship (egalitarian), majority did not affiliate all (agonistic non-interactive). The environments showed formal egalitarian relationships, two exchanged two-way agonism (unresolved). Sex influenced types formed, mixed sex more likely to less exhibit than same-sex pairs. Dominance nature relationships; were play equitable gentle affiliation. Gentle was reciprocal group as whole, it skewed many dyads, especially those relationships. usually, always, directed up hierarchy. Certain much higher rates others, indicating that friendships. Most friends and/or pairs, friendships occurred class/dominance combinations. Long-term demonstrated how dyadic can change over time. Such suggest significant complexity
