Management of Leg Ulcers With Hydrocolloid Occlusive Dressing

摘要: • Twenty-two patients with 31 leg ulcers of various causes received local wound management consisting the application an adhesive hydrocolloid (HC) occlusive dressing (DuoDerm). Group 1 comprised 15 (11 outpatients) 19 ulcers. Approximately two thirds (12/19) healed when treated solely HC dressing; mean treatment time was 57 days. 2 seven hospitalized at least similar size and distribution. The 20 in were either mild topical antimicrobial wet dressings (Sweitzer's 1:32 solution) or dressings, each patient serving as his own "control." All healed; average to healing 44 days 42 management. Most reported convenience substantial relief pain use dressings. ( Arch Dermatol 1984;120:1329-1336)
