摘要: Gold nanoparticles are widely used for catalytic growth of different semiconductor nanowires. It is important therefore to have a full appreciation the factors influencing size distribution such particles on substrates. Here, we describe some interesting phenomena observed during low-temperature deposition Au onto InAs(111)B substrates where islands solid. In particular, find bimodal character these islands. We then develop nucleation model which based specific form island formation energy. The yields self-limiting behavior in rate large suppressed e.g. due dislocations. show that regime self-regulated with few pulses short times, leading or even more complex shapes. For longer system acquires steady-state time-independent supersaturation and hence disappear.
