摘要: Conservation of biodiversity on forest landscapes dominated by plantations has become an increasingly important topic, and opportunities to maintain or enhance within these forests need be recognized applied. Riparian buffers mature retained along streams in managed offer opportunity across landscapes. However, influence buffer width structure adjacent habitat use birds is not well understood. We modeled probability occupancy, while accounting for variable detection probabilities, 16 bird species regional conservation importance the Ouachita Mountains Arkansas, USA. examined occurrence breeding streamside management zone (SMZ) embedded three structural classes pine plantation: young open-canopy, closed-canopy, older thinned plantations. Our occupancy models included a positive association with SMZ nine associated forests. Models early successional (prairie warbler [Dendroica discolor], white-eyed vireo [Vireo griseus], northern bobwhite [Colinus virginianus]) negative width. Occupancy Acadian flycatcher (Empidonax virescens), summer tanager (Piranga rubra), (Dendroica pinus), prairie warbler, also condition plantations, but most did appear affected surrounding found diverse responses among SMZs plantations; some apparently benefitted from >100 m wide, others narrow buffers. Furthermore, traditionally were common SMZs, regardless Thus, optimal relative avian depends greatest interest.
