Carcinoma after Malignant Conversion in Vitro of Epithelial-like Cells from Rat Liver following Exposure to Chemical Carcinogens

摘要: Summary Epithelial-like cells from rat liver were exposed in cell culture to aflatoxin B 1 , dimethylnitrosamine, N -nitrosomethylurea, -hydroxy- -2-fluorenylacetamide, or 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene. Microscopic observation revealed serveral morphological changes almost all of the treated sublines but no uniform, characteristic alterations common cultures. The injection 5 20 × 10 6 into newborn X-irradiated syngeneic rats yielded tumors, usually after latent periods 2 8 months an average 7.8 months. tumors displayed epithelial aspects and diagnosed as carcinomas.
