摘要: A passive surface emission monitor has been developed for nondestructive measurement of formaldehyde (CH/sub 2/O) rates from CH/sub 2/O resin-containing materials such as urea-formaldehyde foam insulation (UFFI) and pressed-wood products. Emitted is sorbed by a planar distribution 13X molecular sleve supported inside the analyzed using water-rinse desorption, colorimetric analysis procedure. detection limit similarly ordered 0.025 mg 2/O/(M/sup 2/ h) achieved with 20.3 cm diameter 2-h collection period. Measurements products UFFI encased in simulated wall panels show strong correlation reference chamber techniques. The used to measure rate interior walls floors one two non-UFFI homes. By application simple single compartment model predict indoor concentrations situ tracer gas infiltration measurements, good between predicted measured was achieved. 22 references, 5 figures, 4 tables.
