摘要: This paper results from the final phase of ENDO project (DGXII AIRII-CT94-1095), a European Commission-funded on non-digestible oligosaccharides (NDO). All participants in programme met to perform consensus exercise possible functional food properties NDO. Topics studied during (including workshop probiotics and prebiotics) related aspects, for which considerable evidence has been generated recently, were evaluated basis existing published scientific evidence. There was general that: (1) there is strong prebiotic effect NDO human subjects. A defined as food-induced increase numbers and/or activity predominantly bifidobacteria lactic acid bacteria large intestine; (2) impact that have bowel habit; (3) promising consumption inulin-type fructans may result increased Ca absorption man; (4) are preliminary indications interact with functioning lipid metabolism; (5) experimental animals preventive against colon cancer. Human nutrition studies needed substantiate these findings. It concluded nutritional prove be key issue research future.
