摘要: The co-occurrence of chronic pain and alcohol use disorders (AUDs) involves complex interactions between genetic neurophysiological aspects, the research has reported mixed findings when they both co-occur. There is also an indication a gender-dependent effect; males are more likely to cope with problems than females. Recently, new conceptualization emerged, proposing that negative affective component drives maintains alcohol-related behaviors. We studied in longitudinal fashion alterations drinking patterns thresholds mouse model neuropathic sex-dependent manner. Following partial denervation (spared nerve injury [SNI]), stimulus-evoked responses were measured before consumption, during drinking, deprivation phase, following episode excessive drinking. During course we observed pronounced sex differences thresholds. Male mice showed strong increase thresholds, suggesting analgesic effect induced by over time, was not female mice. SNI did differ from sham-operated controls baseline consumption. However, phase reintroduction ethanol, male but controls. Finally, decreased central ethanol sensitivity Together our finding, able decrease pain-induced memory come conclusion. propose lower intoxicating effects together ability reduce may explain higher AUD patients.
