摘要: The dissemination of effective interventions to address the pediatric obesity epidemic is critical. There also a growing recognition need for health investments be informed by best available cost and outcome data.1 Such data are essential as researchers, policy makers, public officials attempt implement that yield greatest gains dollars spent.2 Behavioral overweight children lead significant improvements in weight status.3 Most group utilize family-based approach including both their parents treatment sessions.4,5 However, research has demonstrated parent-only may similar status compared models.6 Recently, we reported obese medically underserved rural counties led greater than control condition.7 While accumulating on relative effectiveness these 2 models, little attention been paid differential costs interventions. Children areas at risk non-rural peers.8,9 To our knowledge, there only 1 published randomized clinical trial7 addressing management settings. This concern, one challenges facing promotion translating into evidence-based practices actively disseminated widely adopted.10 Given limited resources (eg, care resources, programs, funds corrlrrltwity programs) often experienced areas,11-14 examining can vital implications.10,15 aim this study was compare communities. We hypothesized would demonstrate lower change per dollar spent conduct interventions.
