摘要: A novel procedure for molding composite structures is disclosed wherein the finished part exhibits a net shape geometry requiring minimal further machining and displaying enhanced consolidation surface characteristics. preform having hollow core portion containing polymer insert introduced into mold cavity. One end of sealed together with heated to melt matrix polymer. Pressure applied at other part, causing radial expansion against molded cavity part. product also useful as component an orthopedic implant.
