摘要: The Socio-Technical Systems (STS) theory, characterized by employee empowerment, opportunity to learn, and au­ tonomy, supports workteams with an emphasis on enhancing worker job satisfaction. In contrast, the basic theory informing total quality management (TQM) or continuous im­ provement (CQI) focuses processes, customers, statistical process control, organizational culture, involve­ ment, improvement enhance productivity. two perspectives share many assumptions tenets. Further, each has its strengths weaknesses. These are described a focus variation, redesign, human resource development, extended rela­ tionships. It is concluded that STS ambiguous theoreti­ cal may over-emphasize social side of organiza­ tional system, whereas TQM/CQI be overly prescriptive pragmatic technical system. suggestion made theories in being merged combined other ap­ proaches traQsformation industry.
