Aging, Source, and Decision Criteria: When False Fame Errors Do and Do Not Occur

摘要: Two experiments investigated the influence of decision criteria on source memory performance older adults and younger adults. Experiment 1 used false fame paradigm, which encourages people to use relatively loose when making what are, in essence, judgments. Consistent with previous research, made more errors than 2 was identical except that judgments were traditional task format stringent judgments: Possible sources listed, participants categorized names terms their source. In contrast 1, reduced level Encouraging discriminations can reduce age differences misattributions.
