摘要: Abstract Cinnamon represents a spice from the barks of number species belonging to genus Cinnamomum . Touching on history uses and taxonomic/botanical attributes , this chapter laid down chemical pharmacological basis cinnamon for its potential application in modifying pathology type 2 diabetes (T2D) associated diseases. Incredible level animal studies vitro data are exhibited outline mechanism powders, extracts active components ranging oil (cinnamaldehyde) highly polar procyanidins inducing antihyperglycaemic antihyperlipidaemic effects experimental models. The diverse often contradictory clinical trials along with specific mechanisms including insulin signalling, carbohydrate digestion, genes expression, antioxidant anti-inflammatory signalling molecules mitochondrial biogenesis discussed.
