摘要: Process related to power generation, i.e., extraction and burning of coal, strongly affects the soil, water resources, air quality. Pollutants generated by coal mining can lead a number environmental problems has become matter global concern. This study focused on evaluate cytotoxicity phytotoxicity surface waters collected in surroundings Thermoelectric Power Plant President Medici-UTPM (Candiota, Brazil), through Allium cepa bioassay physicochemical analyzes. Three samples at points P1, P2, P3 were compared negative control (NC) for all variables analyzed. The P2 sample resulted lowest mitotic index (MI) values (23, 33.1, 40.7%), followed P1 40.7%). However, had highest MI (50.2, 40.1, 36.3%) was most mutagenic NC other treatments. Samples phytotoxic A. cepa, resulting abnormal seedlings. Through analysis, showed high electrical conductivity turbidity, indicating an increase deposition metallic ions organic compounds these samples. Based findings, we conclude that analysis is important step screening areas potentially contaminated compounds. Therefore, our out some consequences process, terms as well their harmful effect constituents waters, need monitoring this region.
