摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter gives a general view of how the pituitary is controlled by central nervous system (CNS). The following three areas are mainly discussed in chapter: (1) transmission hypothalamic impulses to pituitary, (2) first control level—that is, releasing and inhibiting factor-producing elements, (3) second level as modulator structures producing neurohormones. Harris Green formulated neurovascular hypothesis adenohypophysial regulation. They assumed that hypothalamus produces some substances that—after being released median eminence, enter portal circulation which they carried pituitary. tissue eminence separated from blood vessels thin interspace.
