摘要: Ice-thickness change was studied at the ablation area of Moreno Glacier on eastern side Southern Patagonia Icefield. The thickness remained unchanged between 1990 and 1993. With data frontal fluctuations, it concluded that glacier has been in a steady state during last 50 years. Ice-flow velocities measured four points were higher November 1993 than January-February 1994. Also showed clear daily variations with maxima afternoon minima morning. These velocity can be attributed to basal sliding glacier. amount 6.3 m water equivalent 110 days summer 1993-94. Using degree-day method, an annual about 11 -water estimated mid-reach area.
