摘要: The objectives were to test the hypothesis that exogenous prostaglandin F(2alpha) (PGF(2alpha)) temporarily restores sexual behavior of castrated boars, and evaluate effects PGF(2alpha) on serum hormone concentrations. At 35 d after castration, nine lean-type adult boars randomly assigned three treatments in a 3x3 latin square (with replicates). Treatments doses (0, 10, 20mg) periods treatment, with 5 between each period. Serum testosterone (T) concentrations non-detectable at start experiment. estradiol (E2), LH, prolactin (PRL), cortisol unaffected (P>0.05) by treatment. interval from treatment ejaculation treated 10mg (758s) or 20mg (660s) did not differ, but different (P 1 800s). Ejaculation duration false mounts differed < 0.05) control 10 PGF(2alpha). In conclusion, change T, E2, PRL, cortisol, restored behavior. This restoration may have been due an effect directly specific areas brain, indirectly via release other hormones stimulated brain affected
