摘要: Trichomonas vaginalis is a major of non-viral sexually-transmitted infection and an important cause serious obstetrical gynecological complications. Treatment options for trichomoniasis are limited to nitroimidazole compounds. The increasing resistance allergic reactions recurrent make it essential identify develop new drugs against trichomoniasis. Medicinal plants source discovery medications. This review discusses the anti-trichomonas effects medicinal their chemical constituents find better this pathogenic protozoon. Electronic databases were searched collect all data from year 2000 through September 2015 in vitro, vivo clinical studies on effect T. vaginalis. A total 95 vitro identified. Only four human found review. Asteracea, Lamiaceae Myrtaceae families contained greatest number with activity. Persea americana, Ocimum basilicum Verbascum thapsus most efficacious Plant metabolites containing alkaloids, isoflavonoid glucosides, oils, lipids, saponins sesquiterpene lactones possess properties. Assessing structure-activity highly-potent phytochemicals suggested finding natural, semisynthetic synthetic Further necessary confirmation natural substances completion safety profiles.
