摘要: Polycomb complexes establish chromatin modifications for maintaining gene repression and are essential embryonic development in mice. Here we use pluripotent stem (ES) cells to demonstrate an unexpected redundancy between Polycomb-repressive complex 1 (PRC1) PRC2 during the formation of differentiated cells. ES lacking function either PRC1 or can differentiate into three germ layers, whereas simultaneous loss abrogates differentiation. On molecular level, differentiation defect is caused by derepression a set genes that redundantly repressed Furthermore, find genomic repeats targets show that, absence complexes, endogenous murine leukemia virus elements mobilize. This indicates contribution group system defense against parasitic DNA, potential role Polycomb-mediated regulation.
