Enzymatic Phosphorylation of Streptomycin by Extracts of Streptomycin-producing Strains of Streptomyces

摘要: Extracts of post-exponential phase mycelia Streptomyces bikiniensis ATCC 11062, and other streptomycin-producers, catalyze phosphorylation streptomycin dihydrostreptomycin with adenosine-5′-triphosphate. The phosphate is esterified an —OH group the streptidine moiety. It suggested that O-phosphoryl-streptomycin might serve as intracellular precursor extracellular or a detoxification product it unknown physiological function in producing organism.
