摘要: Purpose: Monofocal aspheric intraocular lenses (IOLs) provide better visual outcome compared to other available IOLs following cataract surgery. However, the imported are expensive and not affordable by all subset of patients in low- middle-income countries like India. The aim this study is compare safety efficacy a relatively low cost indigenous IOL (Acriol EC) with an (AcrySof IQ). Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted at tertiary care centre. Two hundred five eyes 137 >45 years age uncomplicated age-related were recruited. All cases underwent standard phacoemulsification randomly assigned one implantations (Group I: AcrySof IOL; Group II: Acriol EC IOL). Primary measure best-corrected acuity (BCVA). Secondary outcomes included function (VF) score, spherical equivalent, contrast sensitivity, optical aberrations, posterior capsular opacification. Independent t-test two means; Mann–Whitney test; Pearson's Chi-square test, McNemar's test used for analyzing nonparametric data such as incidence capsule Results: There no significant difference mean postoperative BCVA 1, 3, 6, 12 months either group (P > 0.05). wavefront VF opacification comparable between groups except higher-order aberrations aberration, which higher II. Conclusions: provides commonly cost.
