摘要: Abstract A sexual difference in glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity was found the submandibular gland of mice but not sublingual or parotid gland. 1. (1) This enzyme more than 25 days old. The adult nearly twice as high males females, being 72.8 munits/mg protein and 38.8 munits females. 2. (2) Castration male markedly decreased activity, completely restored by testosterone administration. Treatment female with increased to a level comparable that normal males. 3. (3) Female sex hormones did alter mice. 4. (4) No detectable differences were activities 3 other key enzymes glycolytic pathway; hexokinase, phosphofructokinase pyruvate kinase. 5. (5) Rats hamsters showed only slight size number granular tubules their glands. 6. (6) seemed be correlated differentiation tubules, which is regulated androgenic steroids. Thus, morphology, first reported Lacassagne (Lacassagne, A. (1940) C.R. Soc. Biol. 133, 180–181, 227–228, 539–540), reflected marked activity.
