摘要: Microvascular structure and function are key aspects of tissue organ health. At approximately 40% total body mass, skeletal muscle contains more microvessels than any other system in the body. Moreover, is most dynamic with capacity to increase blood flow metabolic rate 30- 50- fold. Aging associated decrements microvascular exercise tolerance that poorly understood. Here, experts their respective fields brought together review current state knowledge regarding adaptations aging. Reviews drawn from human animal studies focus on age-related changes sympathetic nervous control microvessels, capillary hemodynamics oxygen pressure, network functional integration, reactivity, whole perfusion, cellular contacts inflammation.
