摘要: Curative results in the treatment of esophageal carcinomas have been significantly improved neither by surgery nor radiotherapy during past 40 years. Thus 5-year survival rate is below 10% both surgically treated and primarily irradiated patients. Survival rates between 20% can only be achieved subgroup patients with resectable tumors. This means that choice cases potential resectability lack metastases. However, 10%–15% undergo potentially curative resection. In in- operable most effective component palliative still radiotherapy. Furthermore, some offers a chance cure.
