摘要: Acutely ill asthmatic patients treated in the usual fashion an emergency room setting and discharged within six hours were studied to determine whether therapy with a single injection of repository corticosteroid (methylprednisolone sodium acetate) could be as effective tapering course oral corticosteroids decreasing asthma symptomatology relapse seven days. Seventeen (18 episodes asthma) formed study population. Eight occurred who received depot methylprednisolone (group 1) ten treatment 2). All both groups improved following treatment. Relapse two group 2 none 1. Symptoms attributable recurred significantly more than 1 (9 vs 0, p less .01). Side effects from rare. This indicates that intramuscular are at least management acute outpatient, distinct advantage regard patient compliance.
