摘要: Serum ferritin, transferrin, haptoglobin, and iron were measured in well-trained middle- long-distance runners, elite rowers of the West German national team, professional racing cyclists during summer training winter rest period. None male athletes examined, with exception period, received oral or parenteral iron. The runners found to have significantly lower ferritin (P less than 0.00001), 0.001), haptoglobin values 0.01) controls. Their transferrin levels elevated, however not significantly. Rowers showed higher reduced concentrations are presumed be caused by a running-induced hemolysis. It is speculated that recurring hemoglobinuria produced diminished reserves runners.
