摘要: To elucidate the psychotropic actions of calcium (Ca) antagonists, we investigated effect voltage-dependent Ca channel nifedipine and flunarizine, on phencyclidine (PCP)-induced changes in monoamine metabolism regional brain areas rats. The results indicate that administration alone attenuated dopamine (DA) nucleus caudatus putamen while enhancing serotonin (5-HT) metabolism. By contrast, flunarizine increased DA PCP significantly metabolite levels prefrontal cortex, putamen, amygdala. PCP-induced increases these regions were antagonized by nifedipine, but not flunarizine. These attenuates hyperactivity dopaminergic neurons, suggesting antipsychotic properties for this drug.
