摘要: Recently, much attention has been given to pulmonary drug delivery by means of nanosized systems treat both local and systemic diseases. Among the different materials used for production nanocarriers, chitosan enjoys high popularity due its inherent characteristics such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, mucoadhesion, among others. Through modification chemical structure, either addition new groups or functionalization with ligands, it is possible obtain derivatives advantageous specific administration. In this paper, we discuss advantages using nanotechnology-based drugs summarize most recent promising modifications performed molecule in order improve characteristics.
