摘要: Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is commonly found in the brains of patients with AIDS and some cases can be detected same cells as human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1). In this study, we analyzed patterns replication HIV-1 HCMV singly infected effects dual infection brain-derived cell lines three different origins: neuroblastoma SK-N-MC SY5Y; astrocytoma/glioblastoma U373-MG Hs 683; undifferentiated glioblastoma A172 T98G. To bypass restriction at adsorption/penetration step these CD4-negative cells, used (amphotropic retrovirus) pseudotypes. These pseudotypes majority cultures expressed high levels gene products all except SY5Y cells. The differed ability to support infection, but coinfection had no effect on replication. were completely nonpermissive for expression, while T98G was restricted level early products. This resulted complete partial inhibition, respectively, viral DNA synthesis. Dual A172, T98G, other lines, U373-MG, 683, SY5Y, fully permissive 683 markedly inhibited synthesis contrast, a transient stimulation production followed by repression observed dually We conclude from results that under conditions which both undergo repress expression. limited replicates well, there However, activation HIV-1, least transiently, may occur expression limited. studies suggest threshold product(s) obscure or promote HIV HCMV.
