Ploidy levels in Beta vulgaris (red beet) plant organs and in vitro systems

摘要: The ploidy levels of the cells in different organs (leaves, petioles and roots) red beet (Beta vulgaris L.) plants ages, as well vitro systems (transformed hairy roots, calli derived from leaves rhizogenic calli), were investigated using flow cytometry. Two callus lines with yellow phenotypes, by mechanical separation morphologically heterogeneous callus, also examined. All samples experienced several cycles endoreduplication. older exhibited higher polysomaty than young ones. highest degree endoreduplication was found old petiole tissue lowest line (cycle values 1.81 0.55, respectively). Interestingly, did not exhibit a 2Cx peak, but tetraploid, probably due to genetic instability, which may have been caused prolonged cultivation under conditions. Red showed significantly lower 0.55 0.59, respectively) primary value 1.09). DNA profiles two phenotypes differed, possibly reflecting differences their metabolism.
