Quantitative analysis of the renal aging in rats. Stereological study.

摘要: PURPOSE: To evaluate the renal function and histological alterations through stereology morphometrics in rats submitted to natural process of aging. METHODS: Seventy two Wistar rats, divided six groups. Each group was sacrificed a different age: 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 24 months. It performed right nephrectomy, stereological morphometric analysis tissue (renal volume weight, density (Vv[glom]) numerical (Nv[glom]) glomeruli average glomerular (Vol[glom])) also it evaluated for dosage serum creatinine urea. RESULTS: There significant decrease oldest rats. The presented gradual increase during development with biggest values registered animals at 12 months age progressive older animals. Vv[glom] statistically reduction between groups Nv[glom] decreased significantly. CONCLUSIONS: proved be inferior senile when compared young evidenced atrophy, associated aging process.
