摘要: The stress corrosion cracking behaviour of two nickel base superalloys (A718 and A690) is investigated in aerated supercritical water by means constant extension rate tensile (CERT) tests at 400°C 25 MPa. Alloy 718 observed to be extremely sensitive intergranular (IGSCC) while alloy 690 found immune IGSCC. CERT are also carried out air under vacuum on both alloys 600°C, i.e. a temperature domain where exhibit oxygen embrittlement. results obtained strongly suggest that oxidation controlling the crack initiation propagation stages water. In light these results, main issue material selection for construction (SCWO) reactors discussed.
