摘要: The performance of current long-drift-length Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) detectors principally is determined by the material's quality. Hence, the limitations must be better understood and potential solutions identified to grow CZT crystals with required qualities. Our efforts have focused on developing novel techniques testing methods that will allow us to explore correlations between crystal's defects detector's properties. Local stoichiometric variations other local disordering make it very hard systematically correlate and material a macroscopic scale. Therefore, delineate factors limiting energy resolution CZT detectors, we directed our towards micron-scale material characterization assessments using the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS). NSLS offers highly collimated high-intensity X-ray beam that we employed undertake detector-performance mapping, investigate association microscopic defects fluctuations in collected charge. In this paper, illustrate results.
