摘要: Lippia origanoides Kunth. Verbenaceae, is of great importance in the Brazilian traditional medicine. Because it, this work had purpose to contribute ethnopharmacological knowledge L. through an ethnobotanical survey conducted within quilombola (maroon) communities Oriximina, Para, Brazil. Among 254 plants cited survey, stood out among ten most versatile species. The agreed main uses were treat menstrual cramps, stomachache, and baby postpartum colic. This could indicate a consensus informants possible antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory analgesic activities origanoides. Therefore, extract (aerial parts) assessed thermal (hot plate) chemical (formalin acetic acid) models nociception. A dose-dependent reduction acid-induced writhing was observed after treating mice with extract. same also inhibited significantly formalin-induced licking response proved have central antinociceptive effect, hot plate test. demonstrates that used specially by women from Oriximina for disorders genitourinary system biological species these uses. Furthermore, it antimicrobial other genus (Goniostachyum section), rich thymol carvacrol.
