摘要: Objective: to describe the investigation of a hepatitis A outbreak in municipality Ibiracatu, state Minas Gerais, Brazil, and report control measures taken. Methods: descriptive study case series type; followed guideline foroutbreak Brazilian Ministry Health. Results: 16 cases were accounted, from which three confirmedby clinical-epidemiological criteria 13 by seropositiveness for anti-HAV IgMantibody; highest prevalence was observed childrenaged up ten years old, 50.0% students local public school. Conclusion: school conditions contributed tospreading disease. The taken contain viral transmission appropriate promoted significant decrease disease incidence; thesurveillance applied quick outbreak.
