摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter reviews two outstanding facts about transport ATPases. First, plasma membrane ATPases and mitochondrial differ greatly in both structure reaction mechanism. Second, even among ATPases, mechanisms appear to with regard the degree of internal charge coupling-that is, electrogenicity. The phosphate group may be regarded as central these proteins, whether or not it is actually covalently bound. In all cases, determines affinity transitions during sidedness “channels.” reveals that Na + ,K - ATPase, plant H -ATPases, mitochondrial-type generate ion gradients are subsequently used for coupled processes. Although chemical ions vary widely under physiological conditions, electrogenic component pump should allow total electrochemical gradient invariant, at least large, wide swings concentration gradient.
