Radiographic evaluation of asbestos-related chest disorders.

摘要: This paper reviews the radiographic, clinical, pathologic, and epidemiological features of pleural pulmonary parenchymal disorders which have been related to asbestos exposure. In particular, following are discussed: (1) plaques--radiographic detection by plain films computed tomography, normal abnormal densities may mimic plaques, 1980 ILO U/C classification, recent data on plaques including their relationship carcinoma mesothelioma; (2) diffuse thickening; (3) benign effusions; (4) mesothelioma--emphasizing advances in diagnosis, staging, therapy, prognosis; (5) fibrosis--pathogenesis, fiber exposure, carcinoma; (6) bronchogenic (7) rounded atelectasis--recent observations its association with thickening. A role radiology medicolegal aspects asbestos-related disease is briefly examined.
