摘要: The Ron receptor is a member of the Met family cell surface tyrosine kinases and primarily expressed on epithelial cells macrophages. biological response mediated by binding its ligand, hepatocyte growth factor-like protein/macrophage stimulating-protein (HGFL). HGFL synthesized secreted from hepatocytes as an inactive precursor activated at surface. Binding to activates leads induction variety intracellular signaling cascades that cellular growth, motility invasion. Recent studies have documented overexpression in human cancers including breast, colon, liver, pancreas, bladder. Moreover, clinical also shown associated with both worse patient outcomes well metastasis. Forced transgenic mice tumorigenesis lung mammary gland metastatic dissemination. While appears be hallmark many cancers, mechanisms which induces metastasis are still unclear. Several strategies currently being undertaken inhibit potential therapeutic target; current include use blocking proteins, small interfering RNA (siRNA), monoclonal antibodies, molecule inhibitors. In total, these data suggest critical factor inhibition this protein, alone or combination therapies, may prove beneficial treatment cancer patients.
