A novel putative receptor protein tyrosine kinase of the met family

摘要: Abstract By successive screenings of cDNA libraries prepared from human tumours and foreskin keratinocytes, we have isolated overlapping cDNAs coding for a novel protein which call Ron, with sequence characteristics receptor tyrosine kinase. Ron is 1400 amino acid structurally similar to the 1408 product C-MET proto-oncogene, hepatocyte growth factor scatter factor. The two proteins 63% overall identity in their intracellular regions. We localised RON gene chromosome region 3p21, frequently deleted small cell carcinoma lung renal carcinoma, believed harbour unidentified tumour suppressor genes.
