摘要: Purpose The aim of this prospective comparative trial was to evaluate whether patients treated with complete dentures lingualized occlusion (LO) exhibited more positive results than bilaterally balanced (BBO). Materials and methods Twenty-eight completely edentulous patients, ranging in age from 60 82 years (mean 70.9), consented writing be participants trial. first 14 enrolled the study protocol were LO, next BBO. Baseline characteristics measured prior Main outcome variables involved subjective outcomes general satisfaction, ability masticate, stability retention prostheses; these quantified a 100-mm visual analog scale. Objective masticatory performance number adjustments. Statistical assessments 2 groups compared using multiple linear regression analysis. baseline analyzed by Student t test chi-square test. Results There no significant differences between at baseline. height alveolar ridge correlations (P = .02). occlusal scheme correlation only patient's satisfaction rating .03). Conclusion Despite limitations attributed small sample size lack randomization, pilot found that fitted LO experienced expressed greater their denture retention. In addition, it observed higher resulted performance.
