摘要: Only few information on the potential toxic effectiveness of biofuels are available. Due to increasing worldwide demand for energy and fuels during past decades, considered as a promising alternative fossil in transport sector. Hence, more their hazard potentials required understand toxicological impact environment. In German Cluster Excellence "Tailor-made Fuels from Biomass" design processes economical, sustainable environmentally friendly investigated. an unique interdisciplinary approach, ecotoxicological methods applied gain adverse environmental effects at early phase development. present study, three biofuels, ethyl levulinate, 2-methyltetrahydrofuran 2-methylfuran were tested. Furthermore, we investigated gasoline fuel, diesel fuel established biodiesel. Two vitro bioassays, one assessing cytotoxicity aryl hydrocarbon receptor agonism, so called dioxin-like activity, measured by Ethoxyresorufin-O-Deethylase, using permanent fish liver cell line RTL-W1 (Oncorhynchus mykiss). The special properties these samples modifications test design. Points that had be addressed high substance volatility, material compatibility low solubility. For testing gasoline, biodiesel, water accommodated fractions passive dosing approach tested address hydrophobicity solubility complex mixtures. Further work has focus improvement chemical analyses allow better comparison any biofuels.
